Domain expert turned domain developer
Over 20 years of global experience in the fixed income sector, working
with industry leaders across London, New York, San Francisco, and
Dallas. Deep expertise in U.S. and European fixed income markets,
paired with a passion for advancing the digitization and
electrification of bond markets through technology.
Foundations at Bloomberg
My career in financial technology began at Bloomberg LP, focused on
implementing and selling the Trade Order Management System (TOMS) to
regional broker-dealers and banks. That role established my foundation
in how technology optimizes trading operations and enhances market
efficiency.
Sales and trading leadership
In 2010 I transitioned to Vice President roles at Dallas-based
broker-dealers — Southwest Securities, Tejas Securities, and Esposito
Securities — overseeing electronic trading systems and fixed income
desks. I developed innovative trading strategies, enhanced platform
capabilities, and delivered significant revenue growth while deepening
my knowledge of algorithmic and platform-based trading. This period
also expanded my exposure to FIX protocol connectivity and electronic
execution across fixed income markets.
Innovation in London
As European Client Relationship Manager at Algomi Ltd in London, I
designed and implemented tailored trading solutions, including the
deployment of ALFA — a liquidity aggregation tool — to tier-1 asset
managers. The role showcased my ability to align advanced technology
with client needs in highly competitive markets.
Founding CatFIX Technology
In 2019 I founded CatFIX Technology, Inc., a cloud-native FIX protocol
engine aimed at modernizing fixed income trading for regional banks.
The venture reflected my dedication to leveraging financial technology
to address evolving market demands and improve operational workflows.
The Katana Labs acquisition
From 2020 to 2021, as Sales and Business Development Advisor for
Katana Labs, I helped launch a machine learning platform that analyzed
over 200 million bond pairs to identify relative value opportunities
with 91% accuracy.
Originally spun out of ING in 2019 (valued at £1.5M by Duff &
Phelps and peaking at £5M pre-money in 2021), Katana became my
mission. I built its go-to-market strategy, secured Google Cloud
Partner Advantage status, and drove integration onto Bloomberg
Terminal — a platform reaching over 325,000 users.
I led digital marketing, built strategic partnerships, and produced
trade idea content on LinkedIn and X. My belief in the platform deepened to the point that I personally
invested in the April 2021 EIS round.
When liquidation loomed, I submitted an initial £9,000 bid through
Hilco Appraisal — not expecting any response. After negotiations, I
secured the IP for £25,000.
The first Google Cloud invoice nearly matched my acquisition bid. That
moment marked a turning point — I paused other commitments and
dedicated myself to mastering cloud management to preserve Katana's
potential.
From cloud ops to AI orchestration
Owning Katana's codebase immersed me in data engineering, machine
learning, and cloud infrastructure. I went deep on Apache Beam, Google
Cloud, and Terraform — building scalable pipelines and reducing cloud
costs by 80%+. A year of intensive GCP work transformed an initial
financial challenge into a technical strength.
Building with AI
The acquisition of Katana's codebase led naturally into agentic AI. I
now design autonomous agent workflows for complex task execution,
integrate LLMs into production systems, and build prompt engineering
pipelines. My focus has shifted from using AI tools to orchestrating
them — building practical solutions that combine domain expertise with
modern AI capabilities.
Education and credentials
I hold professional certificates from The University of Texas at
Austin's McCombs School of Business in Cloud Computing (2023) and Full
Stack Development (2024), with Decision Science currently in progress.
I am FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensed and Google Cloud Platform
certified. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University
(1998).
